Queen Anne's County Homemakers

Queen Annes County Homemakers, a local club started in 1936. Celebrating over 85 years of Faith, Family, Friends and Community. Many clubs were in small towns throughout the county. Many homemakers could be found volunteering for countless hours manning / operating
the open indoor fair exhibits, as they continue to do today. From demonstrating pillow making to sharing old stories of the clubs and past fair memories.

At some point in the fair’s years, the Wye Mills homemakers chapter took over serving the famous Wednesday night chicken dinner from cutting up vegetables, potatoes, etc. to serving the dinner as a hole. As the membership has declined, they are unable to continue at the level that the once helped at the dinners.

Outside of the fair, the Homemakers’ clubs could be found making baby quilts, serving local dinners or just lending a helping hand where needed throughout the community. Although membership has fluctuated, the club remains enthusiastic and optimistic about the future of the club.

The Queen Annes County Fair would like to take this time to thank the Homemakers for their committed support at the fair as it has grown over the past years.

In Loving Memory of Kendall Reuwer

Kendall was a dedicated member of the Pony Express 4-H Club and the Sudlersville Superstars 4-H Club. She began as a shy, quiet member but grew into a confident leader who embraced every opportunity 4-H had to offer.

She participated in speed shows, drill team, horse bowl, hippology, and horse judging, eventually representing Maryland at the national level in Louisville, Kentucky. Most recently, she served as her club’s 2026 President and was recognized as an Outstanding Member, Iron Girl, recipient of the 2024 Queen Anne’s County 4-H “I Dare You” Award, and the Pony Express Spirit Award.

Kendall was known for her kindness, leadership, and willingness to help others. A loyal friend and positive role model, she left a lasting impact on everyone around her. Though her life was far too short, her legacy of service, compassion, and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew her.
